sign-up status
Something weird seems to be going on with course sign-up statuses. Some courses I had open seemed to have changed to closed. (I've fixed them now, but https://p2pu.org/en/groups/writing-and-inquiry-in-the-digital-age/ is an example.)
Also, courses that are marked as "closed signup" still show a Participate button, e.g. https://p2pu.org/en/groups/student-driven-university-classrooms/

Does that course have other organizers who might have changed the status?
I believe a course has to be archived to remove sign-up options. Queuing for Dirk to look into.

One of them has other organizers, but I don't believe anyone changed the
status. The other one has only me. I'll watch to see if it happens again.
Why would a course that is closed for sign-up still allow signups (even
if it isn't archived)? We generally close courses for sign up when they
are "complete," but leave them unarchived for a while for participants
who are lagging and want to continue to work.

That's probably it. There is a chance that "open for sign ups" had more to do with it being placed in the listings page than it had to do with actual sign-up function being on or off. Dirk can test and confirm and we can probably review functionality and make some quick fixes.

Ignore that Writing and Inquiry link....we have two courses with very similar names + I grabbed the wrong one. Sorry.

It shouldn't be possible to sign-up to a course once the sing-up is
closed. Was it a course or a challenge?

Oh, I see...the Participate button is there even though you can't really
sign up. Doesn't display an error message until later in the process.
Ok, I guess.

Wisdom, it may be a class that is currently closed for registration (most likely because it's not active yet). Which course was it?

Hmmm. That course is open for moderated sign-up. (I was able to sign up.) Do you have an account on P2PU? And are you signed in when you click Participate?
If so, perhaps you could send a screenshot so we can look into this further.
